Esquire's Charlie Pierce today provides campaign trail coverage of our good friend and "policy wonk" Paul Ryan on the stump in Longwood, Colorado and it's obvious the folks who came to see him love them some Ryan:
After Ryan unveiled his stump speech — in which he pledged to get spending, debt, and the deficit under control (and on top of which there were Ryan Gosling jokes and outside of which there were rumors of glitter bombs and bans and such) — State Rep. Cheri Gerou told The Politics Blog that Ryan is a pick with double appeal. "He's a very natural... well-spoken individual, but he's also a budget wonk," said Gerou, who represents parts of Jefferson County in Colorado. "He's talking about real ideas, not just campaign rhetoric."Well folks....maybe not THAT substantive....as evidenced by Ryan's appearance YESTERDAY on, of all places, FOX News and with good buddy Britt Hume. More below the orange obfuscation."He's got real substance," she added. "Now we're going to have a serious conversation."
